I have used Airport Extremes and Express's for many years. Lately the network has been undependable and I figured it was time. I bought TP-Link Deco X20 units and have them set up. So far, I'm impressed!

But, there are a couple devices that require an Ethernet connection and I already have several airport express units I'm no longer using. I figured they could have a second life as a wireless bridge. I connected them up to the new wireless network no problem. But, how can I set them to pickup internet via wifi and provide internet to the ethernet device it is connected to but not to provide a wifi signal for connections? I want to connect wirelessly to only the new Deco units, not intermingle the old express units in the Wifi.

Thanks!

Rereading this..I wonder if I was entirely clear. I want to set up a Airport Express to be a wireless access point to provide an Ethernet connection to the network. But, I do not want the AE to expand the network wirelessly and and act as a wireless repeater that wifi devices can connect to. Is that possible?

?so you only want an access point (AP), yes it is possible.

use the built in Applications/Utilities/AirPort Utility
this shoud discover your extreem
click on the extreem icon
click on Edit
click on Network and set router mode = "off(bridge mocde)"

this should point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your reply. Off Bridge Mode- means that devices will not be able to connect to the the Extreme? Is so, that's perfect and what I was hoping it meant.
