I've been receiving "Apple News Sports" notifications all of a sudden. I checked the 'Sports' tab in Apple News, and I'm not following anything there. I checked the 'Following' tab, and not following anything there either. On the 'Notifications & Email' screen, all alerts are turned off. I've toggled the Sports one on and off, but still got notifications a few days later. I know I could just turn off notifications for the Apple News app entirely, but that's more of a band-aid fix...and I do follow some things once in a while. Is there something I'm overlooking somewhere, or could this just be a bug? Anyone else experiencing this?

You aren’t overlooking anything. I am a subscriber and I too get notifications for things I don’t directly follow. I assume if the notification is from News+ that is why we get a notification.

It's not just Apple News - I want Apple to offer me a way to turn off all sports team/game promotions in both Apple TV and the Apple App store too (well, everywhere). I'm not interested, and those ads get in the way (and annoy me) of whatever I'm trying to do or get to.

It's [expletive] relentless.
