Hey everyone
I have had a lot of problems since I started using Yosemite(beta & official )
My macbooks fans go crazy with just a text editor and chrome open! I have 4gigs of ram.
I also saw that there is mysqld in my activity monitor. do i need it? if not, how do i stop it?

I'd do a clean install. I might be mistaken, but, MySQL does not come with Yosemite. So, either you have a Mac you bought from someone else and who knows what is also installed on it, or you downloaded from a torrent site, which might contain malware, which brings us back to who knows what else is installed on there and what it's doing.

I probably installed it when i installed mamp.
i will do a fresh install tonight.

To "uninstall" MAMP, you only have to delete the MAMP directory and everything returns to the original state (MAMP does not alter anything on the "normal" OS X).

So, maybe don't have to do a clean install.

And lesson learned: know what that piece of software one is putting on their machine actually does, so, you might be able to back out.
