My husband and I both have iOS 9.01.
Now I notice that if I have a missed / answer call it shows up on his notice screen and all my calls show up in his recent call history .

Both phones don't ring and they don't need to be near each other or connected by Wi-Fi. We do share an Icloud account a few good years...

We have mac too with yosimta systam.. ( its possible that the mac make this bug? i thing/not for sure its beign when i conncted the mac to our icloud)

the option calls on other devices is off...

So How do I stop sharing call history between the two phones? with the same icloud!(i dont want another apple id)

(the icloud work fine until ios 9)

TnXXX!!!

Stop using the same Apple ID on both phones. It's a stupid idea. Use Family Sharing with separate Apple IDs if you want to share apps between the phones.

If you are using the same Apple ID, you will be treated as the same person.

For multiple persons who want to share media, there is family sharing.

If you fight the system and the way it is intended to be used, yo have to expect problems.

Not stupid, many people do.

Family Sharing is gimped and doesn't do a lot of what people in a real family actually need.

You are both fixating on the Apple ID when it's likely the iCloud account sharing. That's what did it for us.

And this is where the arrogance of Apple shines. Did you read what you just wrote? Why can't the system be designed /modified around our needs instead of having to bend our digital lives to the Will of Jobs?

In a perfect world that would be the case, but in the real world that we live in we can use things within the realm of how they are designed and what they can do.
We'd all love for our microwaves to have internet browsers and TV on them and have the ability to also make coffee and toast our bread at the same time, but that's not how those things are designed. Sure there are some that can do more, but it's still within a certain realm that we are still limited by. That's the reality.

That's a fair point. There are just so many times I run into the walled garden it's a little frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I chose to come in, but I don't always have to like it. :D

I think that goes for many of us. More options would always be good, but unfortunately they aren't always there in general, and more so with Apple that isn't too big on customization.

It's completely unnecessary to use the same Apple ID for iCloud and the iTunes/App Stores. Using separate iCloud accounts will make things like call logs and iMessage work properly. Then log into iTunes and the App Store with a common ID, and the problem is solved.

I believe turning off "calls on other devices" in Settings/Phone will stop the sharing of the call history. It seems it's shared locally over Wifi if you have that feature enabled, not via iCloud (at least I hope so, because my call history is none of Apple's business and should not be uploaded to their cloud).

This only allows an iPad or your MacBook to answer the call coming from your phone. I am not sure it turns off syncing of missed calls across devices, although I could be wrong.

It did turn off the syncing between my phone and iPad. I think the entire call history is synced when the devices are in Wifi range. Before turning the setting off, I deleted the entire call history on the iPad, and it also vanished on the phone. An incoming call showed up on both devices. After turning off the setting, it doesn't anymore.

I'm able to keep messages and calls working properly on the same iCloud account across multiple devices.

Sharing an iCloud account solves many many issues for us that Apple either ignored or can't resolve for other reasons. You say it's unnecessary but you perhaps haven't run into the problems your method creates. We have.

I know it's not the "approved method" but it is the only way so far to have a family actually working the proper way and not some fantasy family that doesn't represent the way a lot of families actually work. Maybe they should have called it Group Sharing instead as that's a more apt description.

We will just keep up our method and Apple be damned :D

Clearly it's now working the way it should. Just use different Apple IDs and enable Family Sharing, like you're supposed to do. Otherwise you'll be trying to make something work in other ways than intended.

I think it may be more accurate to say " as designed" than "it should".

"It should" work the way we need it to, not the other way around. See comments above.

This is the solution. If you use one Apple ID on multiple devices this will continue to happen. I'm sorry if you want to work with one Apple ID there is no way to fix your issue. iOS 9 works this way. Period end of story. Don't mean to be harsh but it's either use 2 Apple ID's or don't complain. Trust me I do this for a living and have had this call since launch at least 6 times a day

Thing is, I'm able to use one Apple ID and one iCloud account across multiple devices without these issues so there def IS a way to fix the issue. So that makes it hard to just trust you.

Just don't count on Apple for the fix.

And while I realize I may sound like I'm just being contrary in all these threads, the specific reason I'm doing it is because people keep claiming what I and many many others are doing is impossible and its the fault of the user - thus making people feel like digital lepers.

My point in commenting is to give people that have these issues the perspective they are not alone and not is their fault the system doesn't function the way it should.

using an Apple ID and an iCloud account is by design you can use one Apple ID for itunes purchases a second Apple ID for iCloud and a third for Facetime and iMessages however it is not recommended and is a mess to fix if you have issues. Using the same Apple ID on both devices because of how iOS 9 works is what's causing your issue. I can almost tell that you're signed into the same iCloud on all devices as you should be. Sign out of the icloud on the devices you dont want the call history to sync to. Issue resolved.

Sorry if you don't like the way the system is designed phone in and have the advisor log feedback for you. Other than that nothing anyone can do. The system is working as intended in your case.

What you're experiencing is expected behavior of iOS 9 it's syncing call history across devices using iCloud now. No way to change that other than getting feedback from customers.

I don't have the issue, OP does.

And there is a way to change it, I've managed to do it and quite frankly I'm an idiot.

Another user on a different forum discovered a solution (which may not be ideal). Turn off iCloud Drive on the device that shouldn't get the call logs and the call logs will stop syncing. Thats the only solution that works, that I know of, so far. The data is synced through iCloud Drive, believe it or not. I have confirmed this solution works.

My wife and I share an iCloud account so that we can have the same iCloud Photos library. But she has a secondary iCloud account that she logs into just for iMessages.
