How do I stop this from showing up when I pull up search?

This pops up randomly on iOS 18 I guess to notify me there’s an ongoing nba game but how do I turn this off? I don’t want to be notified of such info especially when I pull down to do a search in the home screen

Check the Apple News settings, and see if you have Sports/a particular team listed there...

Swipe left on it. Click “Suggest less”. I’ve never had it return after that.

I just looked at the Apple News settings, could this toggle be responsible for that alert coming up in spotlight? By the way, I don’t really mind the alert of an upcoming sport game coming up but do you guys think it’s using up battery life in the background?
