So I am trying to plug in a projector into my windows xp/bootcamp loaded mac book pro,...I am using a dvi to analog vga converter cable to hook up my laptop to a projector so that I can do a powerpoint presentation, but I can't seem to switch to external monitor view while using windows...

any ideas on how to do this? the fn + f7 key doesn't seem to do the trick like i would expect...

I think usually you should right click on the desktop and select preferences from the upcoming menu (you can also get there over the general preference window of windows). In the last tab your two screens should be shown, one of them being greyed out. You can click on it and then select ¨Extend destop to this screen¨ or something similar at the bottom of the window. In the window there is also a button for advanced preferences, which give you more options.

yeah I tried that and got nothing...it works just fine in OSX, but in windows, I'm not seeing anything...screen is black...

on my old dell laptop,...in order to do anything external, you would have to toggle the display,...is this not the case with windows on bootcamp?

thanks

Problems with Mini DVI to video in Windows XP

I just loaded Bootcamp and Windows XP on my Mac Book 1.83 GZ laptop. I have no problem plugging in the mini DVI to video adapter to my TV with Mac OSX but I can not get a picture when I am in Windows XP. I called Microsoft and they told me that at this time you can not use any external monitor with Bootcamp. I subscribe to CSTV (college sports TV) to watch sports over the Internet and the only way this can work is through Windows. I can get a picture on my laptop (very small) but not on my TV. Can anyone give me any suggestions of how I can make this work? I guess its a good thing that I haven't gotten rid of my PC but I really want to be able to just use my MAC (and see my sons football games!!) Thanks, Jane
