How do I sync iMessage between all iDevices?

My MacBook Pro, iPad mini and iPhone are not synced up properly. One device will receive a message and the other will not. Any ideas?

Make sure you have iMessage on and use your iTunes/Apple ID. I remember once I was able to send an iMessage from my iPhone, but it wasn't working on my iPad. I went into the iMessage settings in my iPhone and it was set up only to my phone number and there was something like "use your Apple ID for iMessage" or something. Once I signed in, iMessage set up on all my stuff.
