Was hoping someone could help me out. I have a new RMBP coming tomorrow and I totally forgot about syncing with my jailbroken iPhone 5. How do I sync it to the new Mac without having to restore?

Are you restoring from a Time Machine backup?

I did this with my Air and my iPhone synced fine as if I never switched machines. I returned the Air and went back to my MBP and didn't miss a beat.

I can't explain why it didn't freak out but everything went smoothly.

Syncing with a new computer shouldn't force you to restore. At worst you lose all media, and have to resync them from the new machine.

If you still have your old computer, just copy the iTunes folder from the old computer to the new one, then start iTunes with.... hmmm, was it option-click or alt-click on the Mac? Anyway, that should let you select the iTunes library you want to use. Point iTunes to the folder you copied, and things will be just like they were on your old computer.

You hold option while launching iTunes and it asks for the location of your iTunes library.
