i used to have a password but now i just want to log in without one. i took it out but it still gives me the box. how do i fix this?

You just need to set it to auto log in, go to System Preferences and then Users. In the Users window select the options box and select auto log in.

Auto login is a nice thing, but the nature of user accounts in OS X is the main reason the operating system is so secure. Remove password prompts, and you'd have an unusable machine.

You don't have to remove the password from OSX to have it auto log in either.

I would put the password back and setup auto login.

Cheers
