Hi,

What with the latest searching issues with Outlook on Monterey 12.1 I have decided I am going to try and switch to Apple Mail as my main workflow email software.

So how can I move all my emails/folders/rules etc to Apple Mail from Outlook?

Kind Regards
Jamie

Anyone? lol makes me think its not the right choice.

Is your mail all IMAP? If so, part of the answer is easy, just sign in on Apple Mail and all your mail and folders will just download.

The part I have no idea about is transferring rules.

If your mail is POP I think you need to export from Outlook using a format that Apple Mail can import. Some small tests would be easy to do. Prob has to be done one mailbox at a time. Tedious if you have a lot. I last did something like this many years ago and there were third party apps which helped.

Another way if you are using POP would be to move it all to an IMAP account using Outlook. Then you could let Apple Mail download it.

Yeah sorry I should have mentioned its pop, imap would of course of been simple.

You can export from outlook but it neds to be mbox for apple mail to import but you can’t export in that format from office for mac which is stupid af!

Would say from hour experience for work flow that apple mail is just as good as Microsoft Outlook?

I have very little experience of Outlook. I am OK with Apple Mail and much prefer it to Outlook, but that could be just because I have so much more experience with it. The only bad experience I had with Apple Mail involved on-my-Mac mail, many years ago, before I went all IMAP. In my experience IMAP is safer.

What about converting your POP to IMAP, all in Outlook.

I think the third party apps I mentioned were able to convert mailbox archives, but it was a long time ago. Googling 'convert mailbox formats' gets a lot hits.
