Hey everyone , im new to Apple products. I bought a macbook pro in dec 2009 and today i decided to buy a imac for many reasons. How do i transfer my music, movies, contacts and other things from my macbook pro to my new imac ? I should have asked in the store but i forgot. Can anyone help me out ? I appreciate any advice Thank You

Joey

How to sync between macbook and imac over wifi to transfer files?

So how do i do that ? Connect to wifi and sync it like that ?

For iTunes, you can turn on home sharing on both computers. This will allow you to move every file over via WiFi.

For Address Book, if you have MobileMe you can log into both computers and it will keep both in Sync. If not, you can Export your entire Address book. Should be under File-Export or something like that (not in front of my Mac right now). This should be able to be reimported into the Address Book on your iMac.

Easiest way is to use a firewire cable or ethernet cable between the two machines...setup on the iMac will ask you if you want to transfer the info from another Mac...

Another option is using Time Machine on the MBP with an external USB drive...then when your run iMac setup choose restore from Time Machine...

Cheers.
