How do I unlock my activated Iphone (1.1.2 otb updated to 1.1.3)

Hi,

the situation is a little complicated but I'll try my best to make it as clear as possible.

I have an activated Iphone from Germany (t-mobile) 1.1.2 otb and produced in the 43rd week. I then updated it to 1.1.3 (stupid I know).
The problem now is that I live in Spain and the roaming charges would kill me. I would love to get my iphone working with my movistar sim card.

What I already did: I used the Ziphone and ran the unlock tool.
What happened: The iphone worked at first with the movistar sim card but was somehow pixeled out a little around the "unlock" button right after install and startup. I turned it off and when I turned it on again it would let me insert my pin but then send me right to the "emergency call" screen without access to the home screen. I could do nothing from there. Then I connected it to my macbook and iTunes said: "there is a problem with your iphone.... "
So now I restored the iphone via Itunes after putting it into recovery mode. Now everything works fine again with the original t-mobile sim card.

If anybody knows what I have to or should do to get my iPhone working with the spanish sim card please tell me !!!!!

I had the same problem that you have. I activated an iPhone in USA and bring it to spain to use it with orange. I unlocked the phone several times but I had always the same issue: It wouldn't let use the orange card as it was able to see that I was changing the card.
The solution is to unlock it without using iTunes from the begining. That way you will be able to use it in germany with t-mobile, in spain with movistar and wherever in the wolrd with any carrier.

You have to be sure you do it the way the say it and never let iTunes activate the phone. Once you have everything done you can stay on 1.1.2 or upgrade to 1.1.3. I personally stayed on 1.1.2. I was scared of upgrading, but it should work. You can use any unlocked simcard (that means that you don't need to tape the pin to access the card). I used the orange one. You can always remove the pin code in any phone, including the iPhone.
Be carefull wich unlock tools you use. One of the packages seems to need the BSD subsystem installed, the other one not... be sure you read the info on the package and install everything you need.
Remember you'll need to have your iPhone plugged to your computer, but with iTunes closed.
If you fail with any step you'll have to start again. It's anoying but it worth the effort.

And don't forget to install iWord an select spain, and if you move to germany again select germany then.
