How do I upgrade my 2006 Mac Mini from intel core duo to intel core 2 duo?
I have 2006 mac mini with intel core duo, really liking it only problem is its 32bit and lags at times, so i figured if I replace the current intel core duo cpu chip with an used intel core 2 duo chip form eBay I could fix this . So wondering what should i do ?
Which intel core 2 duo chip do i buy , I will probley go to a compurter store and get this done, there but they always want alot for things like cpu chips so I figure I buy it and get then to install it for me. Also i currently have 1gb of ram want to upgrade it to 2gb? Which ram do i buy ?

HELP....:confused::confused::confused:

The most powerful CPU upgrade for that Mini is the Intell T7600 @ 2.33Ghz. There's also the T7400 @ 2.16Ghz and the T7200 @ 2.0Ghz. Any of them will give you a big performance boost. Also upgrading your ram to 2GB will help. If you want more ram, you'll have to flash the MacMini2,1 firmware onto it to be able to access 3.3GB of ram.
