How do I? upload photos

When you plug your phone into your PC, it mounts like a USB drive. Drag and drop the pictures to your PC.

Well when I plug in MY phone it does not act like a USB drive (PC) I can open Itunes and view content of phone and Itunes but nowhere is there a place to "click and drop/drag" ....?
