How do I use a Hello Passkey?

So I use OneDrive for my storage as I have 365 and a Windows Desktop(gaming).

When I try to open onedrive.com on my Mac and try to open my Personal Vault. I don't have Windows Hello on my Mac so how do I authenticate who I am to my Mac? Am I missing something?

I might be missing some functionality, but I've always just entered by user id and password. I can also use my Microsoft Authenticator on my iPhone instead of my password. When I try to open the vault it prompts me again to use my authenticator.

I assume you meant by "onedrive.com" using a web browser on the Microsoft website.

I now see there are other fancy ways using my iPhone and camera. Never tried to figure that out. But, I see no way to have my Mac authenticate me and authenticate with Microsoft on my behalf.

Microsoft's support page only mentions “iPhone, iPad … which must be in proximity of the Windows device”

Just don’t use passkeys, they are overhyped and not ready for regular use.

You would need to store your passkey in a cross-platform solution like 1Password so that you could access it on multiple devices.

I am using the website. The problem is that until recently it would just ask me to authenticate using my Authenticator app. Its just this week or so it started asking for a Passkey, which I never set up. Though it seems that Microsoft made my Hello PIN into a Passkey without ever telling me it was.
I've been using the Password less signin for years, but this is the first that I've run into this mess.
