pretty new to rental from iTunes (I'm in UK)

I rentred a movie on my iMac as was on special, and know you get 30 days to start, and then 48 hours to watch once you've started watching it. However it started to download on my iMac, which I don't want it to as I want to watch on my Apple TV (or even iPad and then airplay to Apple TV).

But I went to my Apple TV, settings>general and "check for rentals" and it says none. its the same iTunes account etc.

So how can I view now on Apple TV or is this not how it works? I thought I could rent on any device, my iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iMac and then view it from anywhere?

thanks

Make sure Apple TV is on same iTunes account ..

Also one way to get around this is to enable home sharing on the iMac and ATV ... then under Computers on ATV select the iMac and within that you will find Rentals which u can just play off the iMac to your ATV ... You can also play on iMac and mirror to the ATV (defeats the purpose but hey atleast u get it on the TV)

I actually did this today, rented a movie from iTunes on my MBP, figuring I could watch it on my :apple:TV. Nope, can only watch on the MBP. Fantastic.... Now I get to watch a 3 hour movie on a 13" monitor with ****** sound vs a 46" tv and a respectable sound system. wtf. Displeased. There is no option to shoot it to the TV via AirPlay either.
