I don't know about you folks but whenever mine leaves the house I can barely ever use it as other people are playing with it. The majority of the time they just swipe through pages of apps going "oooohhhhhh wow I want one" or play magic piano. It has become the office play thing and converts even the most die hard sceptics.

I go visit my family and they never talk to me anymore, they play geometry wars or Scrabble on the iPad instead just saying stuff like "this ipads cheating! Balboa isn't in the dictionary!"

I ask friends if they wanna do lunch and I hear things like "bring the iPad so we can have a game of air hockey!"

How have your family, friends, colleagues, strangers, pets reacted to yours?

Same thing. Whenever I go somewhere with my family everybody is all over the iPad. Even if they just get to see the pages of an iBook turn.

This wont last forever though, most people who have seen my iPad have gone out and bought one, the day I show them.

But I want more people to get them, there's more people to race or play scrabble against. :p

I've gotten stopped by strangers many times in coffee shops who want to take a look at it. It draws a lot of attention.

Honestly, most people don't care. Anymore, I get a general question about if that is the iPad. When I say "yes," they simply ask if I like it. Some go on say they want one. others just say "cool."

Most of the time, when I take out my iPad, I always have people peeking over trying to see what the iPad is capable of, but if I look back at them, they pretend like they're not :p

Occasionally, people ask me questions about it, and they're really interested in how I feel about my iPad, and I explain to them the pros and cons of an iPad, as well as how it fits into the computer world/marketplace.

When I was flying to Malaysia, I had a flight attendant on each flight stop by and ask if it was an iPad, and then some guy at the Singapore airport seemed really excited that I had one. Another guy stopped and made a comment about it and then proceeded to tell my why I should accept jesus into my life.

So, yeah, I get asked about it all the time, but I think the novelty will wear off soon enough, just like it did with the iPhone in 2007.

Mostly smirks from co-workers think I'm spoiled and it's a toy the company bought me.

Then they see me start typing or using remote desktop, or pulling up something from sharepoint, or a search, or YouTube demo, or, or....

Then they hear that i paid for it myself and still use it for work

Then they start peeking and maybe ask a question or two.

So, in another words...

Ipad makes you lose your identity. People don't recognize you before your ipad?

I'm getting a lot of attention on flights too. Out of 3 recent flights, I sat next to a Kindle owner and even another iPad owner! I know that Kindle has some pros/cons, but the Kindle owner just came out and said she was jealous. Flight attendants also stop to talk about it.

Just amazing for flying--some reading, some games, etc.

Only my neighbors have seen it and so far they all are very interested in it. Especially when I show them all the things I can do on it like Email, Web, NetFlix, Video Air, etc... Then they ask how much I paid for it and when I tell them their response is a little less enthusiastic.

even the homeless guy on bart knew it was an ipad. i wish i hadnt shown him, he stuck around till i got off and smelled really bad the whole time.

Just say no, and dont bring your ipad. Theyll get over it and if they complain tell them to buy their own.

My 2 year old daughter got a lot of attention on our last flight, because...well...she had my iPad the whole time! She was watching cartoons and playing toddler games and totally entertained the whole time. I missed not getting to use it myself but was very thankful it entertained her so well on our first flight with her. And I still had my iPhone :)

This! +1 exactly how it goes. Even the worst of haters', that call it just a big iPod touch, opinions flip immediately as soon as they touch it.
....even if it's just flipping through pages of apps and "playing" piano.
