I am using Numbers 3.6.2 on my mac w/el capitan version 10.11.6.
How do you do a SAVE AS and keep the original spreadsheet?
I made changes to my Spreadsheet #1, hit the option key and then the Save As choice appeared and saved the new Spreadsheet #2.
But then, Spreadsheet #1 had all the changes I made for #2--it didn't remain the way it started.

Is there a way to do a save as and keep the original in its original form?

File --> Duplicate will make a copy of the original file. Any changes you make before you Duplicate are saved to the original, so make the Duplicate BEFORE you make unwanted changes to the original.
