How do u add pic to your texts?

How do you add those little pictures to your iMessage Texts? the little profile pictures that show up each time you type? it's making my crazy I can't inure out. I have iPad 2.

I got the avatars for my contacts by just adding a picture in the contact entry. so now I see a picture for them in my messages, just not for me. where is my iCloud profile?

Go to iCloud.com and you can add a picture to your profile after you sign in.

I don't think it will show one for you. On others devices, you will appear as whatever they have assigned as your contact picture, but you can't personally have one on your own device

if you do it from an iPhone or iPad (or iPod) then this is what you see. if you do it from the desktop you will get the sign in. Mobile me is the same way

I wasn't to change my picture form iCloud.. it wouldn't save.

I had to change my profile picture for my user name on my Mac.
and then it sunk the picture across my devices instantly

No you can have it so that a pic will show for you.
I have 2 iPad's (1st gen) that I've been tinkering with trying to add pictures to contacts. On one iPad I was able to add a pic to my account and have it show when I send a message. I tried to repeat on the other iPad but that one will not show up when I send a message. I gave up as it was getting late and I was getting a headache

I did it! First you make an entry for yourself in contacts. Then settings, then mail,contacts,calendars, then under contacts you have my info and you pick yourself from drop down menu. If you assigned a picture to yourself it will show up in the chats!

i had 1 iPad going and working fine with pics for chat but for the life of me, i couldn't figure out the 2nd iPad.
just did as you suggest and it worked!
