hi you all,

i've recentely want to upgrade my mac pro 5.1 (2009 upgraded), with a ssd sm951 nvme ahci with a pcie adaptor, i've bought a nvme with pn number is 00000, it's doesn't work as a start up disk, and i've checked on ebay, they are a lot different types, baiscly two type: one with "pcie ahci" printed but very expensive, on without "ahci" printed, but claimed by seller they are ahci, i want to know how do we know if the ssd is ahci supported without "pcie ahci" print, thank you so much.
i post my ssd on the attach, may anyone tell if they are ahci supported please? thank you.

btw, is it only type of ahci ssd accepted by mac pro please? or we can have other choice?

Sorry for my poor English. What do you mean?

All AHCI SSD should work on the Mac Pro.

If NVMe, should work natively as data ONLY drive in High Sierra.

Or you can pair it up with a bootable (e.g. a SATA SSD) to form a Fusion Drive, then it will also bootable (still need High Sierra, otherwise, 3rd party driver is required).

AFAIK, all AHCI SSD can boot on cMP, e.g. XP941, HyperX Predator, Wings MX2, etc.

Also, m.2 SATA SSD can also boot on cMP. e.g. Accelsior E2, WD Blue, UV500, etc.
