As title. I would prefer Samsung screen but now read that LG are a supplier to the new phones.

From My understanding, Samsung provides the OLED panels for both the 5.8 and 6.5 iPhone X. However, there was a recent article that surfaced six days ago that LG is now going to be a second supplier being that they passed Apples quality test(s) for of the future iPhone OLED models.

What on earth is the difference?

LG has had somewhat of a negative history with the Pixel displays, and I think others are concerned that they may bring that type of quality to the iPhone, which might be why the OP is asking.

Well, Apple sets the quality parameters, not LG or Google.

You’re rehashing something I already stated below:.

LG is now going to be a second supplier being that they passed Apples quality test(s) for of the future iPhone OLED models.

There again, LG faced some negative rhetoric due to last year‘s Pixel dispays, Which is why some want to know which panel is or will be supplied.

I really don't think that Apple is going to let their phones ship with sub-par displays. People worry too much about minor things.

I agree. I don’t have a preference of Samsung or LG, as long as the display is uniform and looks as intended, that’s all I could ask for.

I wouldn't worry about it. Apple wouldn't add LG as one of their screen suppliers if the screens weren't good enough. This isn't the Pixel we are talking about.
