I feel like the screen is way to bright in dark rooms. I’m using auto brightness but turning it off and manually turning screen brightness down doesn’t change a thing. Have anyone else noticed the same?

I'm the other way. I find auto brightness a bit too dark in low-light. You could try this to reduce the intensity...

Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce White Point.

Toggle the slider to suit your taste 🙂

For what it’s worth, when I turn screen brightness to its lowest in a dark room I can barely see anything.
If you have any degree of brightness it sounds like a bug. Can you compare with a friend’s iPhone or one at the Apple Store? I assume you rebooted?

You can adjust the brigthness while Auto is enabled.

I’ve realized you can also somewhat ‘train’ auto brightness. For example, if, when in a dark room, the brightness isn’t what you want, go to Control Center and manually adjust the display brightness slider (e.g., lowest allowed, 10%, 25%). Whenever you go into a similarly lighted area again, the OS will target the brightness level you chose.

I was convinced that the phone could go to 1 nits automatically? Doesn’t seem intuitive to go through setting to adjust it manually?
