Well, the thread pretty much gives it away. How do I add pictures from my desktop to photo stream? I use an iPhone 5 and I've got the iCloud control panel installed on my computer. I dragged the pics to the "Photo Stream Uploads folder" which is what Apple says, but they aren't showing up in my photo stream folder on the phone.

Every time I take a photo from my phone, the picture shows up on my photo stream on my desktop. The connection is there, but it ain't working the other way around.

"Take a photo on an iOS device. Or import a photo from your digital camera to your computer."

"Want to get the photos you’ve taken on your point-and-shoot or DSLR camera into your Photo Stream to view on all your other devices? The photos you import to your library from a camera or SD card are automatically uploaded to your Photo Stream. If you have a PC, you can auto-import and upload pictures, too. Just turn on Photo Stream, grab a camera, and start shooting."

Apple says it shouldn't be a problem. The pictures are JPEG by the way, which is supported.

Or am I just dead wrong about it all? :D

Well thats how mine works. Are you settings as below?

The iPhone part is right, but I can't find the other window. I only have iCloud control panel installed on my desktop, because Itunes is dreadful on a PC. I guess I need Itunes as well?

The Photostream settings menu posted by Apple fanboy is from iPhoto not from iCloud in System Preferences. What photo management application do you use on your PC? I'm on mac as well so I'm not entirely familiar with how you manage stuff on the PC side, but you might want to check the preferences/settings in whatever program you use to manage your images.

Well, there is no separate application I use for managing photos. I just organize my photos through windows.

What an awful program. It just won't work! Does anyone here have a PC where they experience the same problem?

Some of this confusion stems from changes in the iCloud software for Windows. Old guides on how to do this can be wrong.

If your Photo Stream is turned on and set up in the Windows iCloud Control Panel you can drop the pictures into the username>My Pictures>Photo Stream>Uploads folder and they should start uploading right away.

I don't know if that's exactly what you were trying or not.

iCloud Control Panel created a "Photo Stream" System folder visible when you open "Computer"

Go through that way and select the photostream (normal or shared)... within that view right click and select add photos and select them.

Wait some time and it should come up on the iphone as well.

Congrats on the Mac

I made the switch about a year ago and even though it took me awhile to get used to the Mac after using PC since before there was Windows, I'm glad I made the switch.
