How do you change the Battery Icon & Dialer without Customize?

How do you go about changing the Battery Icon, Dialer, Keyboard, Calculator without using Customize?

Can I just go into the phone using SSH and CuteFTP Pro and manually replace the contents of each folder that corresponds with the item (Springboard.app, MobilePhone.app, Calculator.app, UIKit.framework)... or will that total screw up the iPhone?

If so, do I replace only the contents of the new stuff or replace everything in the master folder with new folder?

In other words... the new Retro Phone Dialer has 15 components, while the original MobilePhone.app folder has 60 components and 4 language folders. Do I only use the 15 from the new dialer or just replace MobilePhone.app completely?
 
Why don't you want to use customize?? I'm trying to figure out how to access the files to drop in new battery icons or dialers but I'm at a loss.
 
Thanks for the new video. Tried it earlier from a different video, but it didn't point there was a modded version of customize. Now it works. Very cool.

Now how do I added my new Battery Icons and Dialers from MMI into Customize?

It's weird. Got Customize to work now with no problems, but when I upload stuff into the appropriate folder... it shows the name of the new item, but no picture and once installed, nothing shows up. It's blank.

Also (for instance)... on the Carrier Logo in Customize, it shows iPod as my backup when I have AT&T. Should it be AT&T as the backup?

Right click the files in WINSCP > Properties > Change the File Permission to 0755
 
when I follow the youtube video the customize newer version does not show up. Any suggestions?
the program was under Modded customize. But I finally got it.
 
One last question. If you delete Customize, does all the changes you made with the app revert back to their original stock state... or does the stay on whatever was installed last.
