I am sure this has been asked a million times, yet after plenty of forum searches I come up empty handed.

Well, how exactly do you replace or change the windows icon, either under OS X or XP. If it has to do with code or etc...please explain step detailedly. Thank you very much for your help.

Joe

Is it Fat32 or NTFS?

If it's Fat32, simply go to Get Info and change the icon from there like any other Mac icon.

If it's NTFS, there's a method which uses a USB and Terminal, but I never go it to work.

Also for an easier way, get CandyBar, and change the icon of Internal HD.

Will CandyBar let you change the Windows partition icon on the Mac desktop? And how about the loading screen where you choose OSX or Windows? If its NTFS formatted?

The easiest way is to use Candybar. What you do is load candy bar and change the "Internal Drive" icon to the one you want the Windows drive to be. When you do that, that is going to change both the OS X drive and the windows drive to that icon. Then just change the OS X drive (not using candy bar) to the one you want.

Awesome! Very cool tip!

Thank you!
