I hear so many people complaining about their phone not having 4g or a 5 in screen. I'm wondering if you choose your phones by the specs like 4g or 3G or just by if you like it and it fits your needs? I will choose any phone that I like if it fits my needs. I think even 3G phones are still good for my needs. So how do you choose your phone?

I choose a phone that fits my needs but one of my needs is 4G so I quickly discount 3G phones. Partly because when I upgrade I'll be locked in for 2 years and at this point, why get locked in for 2 years on 3G when LTE is available.

Apps, and form factor are also used to determine whether the phone fits my needs. I'm a big email user so a strong email client is a must.

I always enjoy the latest and greatest tech on my smartphones regardless of OS. Three things that I will not compromise on are display quality (I like to read a lot), camera quality, and battery life.

I like get a new phone every year to year and a half or so. Sometimes a phone has a feature you can't find elsewhere that makes it worth a look. I'm not too engrossed in specs, but in the overall presentation and feel of the device. There are some Android phones out there that have amazing specs but they still aren't as smooth as an iPhone or a WP8 device.

My main concerns are battery life, camera, and lately- screen size. My eyes have gotten a lot worse, and I wonder if it's not from looking at a 3.5 inch screen for four years. I'm currently using a Lumia 920 and I'm very happy with it.

I also enjoy the latest and greatest and if I'm locking myself into a 2 year contract, I'm choosing the large HD display with LTE, quad core, 2 gigs of ram, great battery, loud speakers, great camera, tons of features and OS that fits my needs.

Good screen, good feel, interesting design/feature, top of line specs, and price. I've got 2 phone lines and generally get between 3-5 different phones a year. One is always the new iPhone, so 2-4 goes to trying out the new stuff everyone else is offering.

To be honest, after my first smart phone (which was a T-Mobile My Touch), I got an Apple 3GS.

After that, my new phone was whichever new phone Apple released.

Confortable in-hand design (Main reason I didn't opt for iPhone 5) and amazing battery life. Screen size should 3.5+ inch with a PPI of at least 250 (Not very picky).

As things progress, my requirements increase. Currently my requirements are these:

1. Display:
- No smaller than 4.5" and no larger than 5.0"
- Must be a minimum of 720p
2. Must have NFC
3. Must have a 2gb of RAM along with either dual core A15 or quad core processor (preferably A15 based).

Those are the top 3 things I look for before I get into the details of the device. If it does not encompass all the 3 of the things above, then it isn't even an option. Bear in mind, encompassing these 3 things does not make it a viable option for me, it just means it meets the minimum requirements to be considered. From there, I will look at the details of the device to determine if it is worth of me carrying it.

Here's what I look for in a new phone when I had to get one in July:

1. Landscape slider keyboard. (Unfortunately, there were none.)
2. 32 GB of storage. I have a lot of music that I wish to put on my phone. I had to eliminate the HTC One S for this reason. I liked everything else about it, but with only 16GB of storage and no ability to expand it, this was a deal breaker for me.
3. Ended up going with the SGS3 as it was the next best thing that I liked and was available. I would have preferred the One X as I really liked my old Desire Z. The One X was not available from my carrier.
