Same way you clean any other Mac or laptop??

Just use a damp microfiber cloth ( I spray a little water onto the cloth and clean it).

Just put the brightness to zero since any key touch will wake it up.

The M1 Pro/Max MBP cannot be completely shut down. So how do we clean the keyboard? And trackpad? without shutting it down, while cleaning the keyboard and trackpad will react to wherever you clean/touched

Rubber air pump on the keyboard.

Dryish micro fibre cloth on the screen and body.

I have this kit that I use for my camera and Mac.

I tried the polishing cloth on the new model and got scratches on my screen. I exchanged for memory leak.

On the new laptop since I don’t close it - it’s really mostly dust. I would lightly brush the screen with the cloth to remove the dust. However over the weekend I purchased a microfiber duster and used that yesterday and I liked the results.

made me laugh, thank you.

A moment later I’m wondering if it was a serious tip for the OP after all…
It's pretty much what I do. When the laptop boots (I shut it down most evenings), I log in, then have enough time to give the keyboard and screen a wipe with a damp cloth. I even use a touch of soap if necessary to get oily fingerprints off, but that's rarely necessary.

When I'm not booting, simply locking the screen (tap of the touch-id button on my Air) does the job just as well. Or you could open up a blank textedit document and see what randomness you create whilst cleaning the keyboard.

Be logged out and turn the brightness all the way down. That is how I do it. So if you have any keyboard inputs, it is not doing anything.

If you have brightness down, any pressing of the keyboard won’t do anything? Or just we can’t see it? For real?

so why bother turning the brightness down?
So you can see the dust and fingerprints more clear. It is harder to see with the brightness on, since they are some stubborn areas (be sure to be gentle with the microfiber cloth, pressure can cause damage).

you can download the free app Pristine screen from App Store . it locks your keypad so that you can clean the keyboard easily.

KeyboardCleanTool is what I use to accomplish the same thing. Doesn't take up a lot of space on my SSD, and it's a very lightweight app with minimal impact on resource utilization.

I use slightly damp microfiber cloth on a locked laptop. It beeps but nothing happens. I hit the esc key to turn off display, then use the Apple cloth for the screen when needed (about once a week).

I have a vacuum cleaner with a reverse mode to blow stuff off the keyboard and under the keys.

I use a microfiber cloth to wipe the top case and trackpad. I do this fairly frequently. I can wipe the keycaps as well but I have to shut the system down to do this so it isn't as often.

I use a microfiber cloth to wipe the screen. If there are particles stuck on or any kind of stain, then I apply a small amount of water to the microfiber cloth to wipe it.

I will wipe the top and bottom surfaces from time to time to get rid of any skin oils on these surfaces.

I've had my M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 since launch (Nov 2021 I think) and it looks new.

From the posts here, it seems the the keyboard gets most dirtiest. Am I the only one who finds the top of the screen where the notch is gets dirtiest with finger prints because that's Whet we have to lift the lid?

What a silly place to put the gap to lift the lid.
