I launched XLD, clicked File, Open, and opened the music folder but it didn’t do anything.

I have had XLD for a while but never used until today. You got me curious. It worked quickly, flawlessness and was one of the easiest Apps I have ever used. Just open the Folder and you get this screen and hit Transcode and it makes a copy in the codec you have selected.

Also by opening the files (and not the folder) you bypass the screen and it transcode immediately.

EDIT: If opening a folder you need to use the Open Folder As a Disc command.

Its very easy. All I do is right click on the flac files and click open with XLD. It should do it automatically.

You have to set it up first. Its going to do whatever was previously set or not set up yet to do anything.

Apple lossless

Are you replying to my question? If so when replying please quote to give a courtesy notification to the person.

If so my question is where are the output files going? Is it a valid accessible Folder. See pic.

personally, I find Max easier for straight FLAC conversions & only use XLD for ape cue etc.

Which option should I choose to convert the files? Apple lossless?

Apple Lossless (ALAC) works pretty much like FLAC, both are lossless audio codecs. AAC falls in the same category as MP3.

questions about the settings on XLD to convert from FLAC to ALAC.

1. Embed cue sheet as a chapter. (uncheck or check) ? http://d.pr/i/1ha3h
2. Character encoding. (UTF-8 or Western Mac OS Roman) ? http://d.pr/i/Gj2v
3. BOTH METHODS WORKS but I prefer ask: When you have a FLAC album on tracks (not a single track) and you have the .cue, you use the .cue or just drag and drop the flac files to convert? http://d.pr/i/Q2me

that is, any help?

When I put Apple Lossless as the output, my Flac files convert to m4a instead. Does somebody knows how to fix it? I wanted to convert to alac so I can hear my lossless audios on my phone.

That is the proper extension for them.
