Ok I guess this is a SOUPER noobie question

I can't seem to get it even after so long, so I selected the files I want, then I pressed Apple-C, next I browsed to the destination, but the "PASTE" command is blanked out.

What gives?

Hmm... thats odd.. it works for me...

try copying again and then just hit Apple + V instead of going to the menu to paste...

You need to drag and drop, not copy and paste, files:
- Within same volume: Moves file.
- From one volume to another: Copy/Paste file.
- While holding down the cmd key (aka apple key), from one volume to another: Move files.
- While holding down the option key (aka alt key), within same volume: Copy/Paste files.
