How do you delete photos in the iPhone?

Just upgraded to 8.1.1 iOS a week ago and now cannot delete any of my photos in camera roll. I thought I could do it all at once in the album but no luck! When I edit it; there is no delete selection.

How do you delete photos in the iPhone now? Is there a switch that you have to turn on in General Settings? I am lost!

Delete photos

If you took the photos with the phone you should be able to delete the photos using the phone. If the photos originated elsewhere you delete them using iPhone connected by USB to iTunes on computer.

In 8.X; they replaced the delete option with a trash can at the bottom right corner. I did not recognized it as delete function. I did not recognized the trash can either. LOL!
