I remember someone posted a tip on how to dismiss a notification banner on top. Can't find the thread anywhere. Usually the banner sticks for 7 seconds then goes away. There have been quite a few instances when I'm about to tap on an icon or a button on top while the very notification banner appears, thus making it very annoying even for some mere 7 seconds.

So far, I've tried sliding across the banner all the way up. But instead of getting rid of it, the gesture registers as a tap and takes me straight to the corresponding app. What else could I possibly do to dismiss the damn thing?

Thank you in advance.

Is this what you were looking for?

Someone else posted this so I'm passing it on...swipe the notification banner from right to left and it will disappear.

P.S. I haven't tried this myself. Hope it helps/works though!

That's it! Thanks a lot. :)

By the way, who else finds it awkward swiping from right to left vs. left to right? Left to right feels just more natural, no?

I do find it a little awkward to swipe from right to left. It would be more natural to just flick upward to dismiss the notification.
