Isn't it possible to display the date in the menu bar in OS X? Somehow only the day appears.

With the 10.3 update you can now see both time and date. Open system prefs then date and time. Click on clock and in the view in tap click window. It will display a little date book on you're desktop.

If, however, like me you havent had the time/money to shell out for 10.3 yet, then there's a marvelous little ap called iClock, you can get it from downloads.com and it makes a customised toolbar. I've turned off the os x clock and am displaying date and time and it even makes a monkey noise on the hour!

Hope it's ok for you!
