I've ordered both the 11'' and 13'' to compare, and even though I go to the gym a lot - the 12.9'' is REALLY heavy to hold it in one hand for a prolonged time!

I'm wondering, how do people even use it ergonomically? Do you hold it with both hands? Place it on the table/belly for support? Stick it onto the magic keyboard?

Usually at a desk with a stand/type of case or in a Magic Keyboard-like case. I very rarely hold it in my hand or on my lap. if I am laying on the couch, I'll have one of those cushion/tablet holders (or if the case has a surface-like stand--Logitech Combo Touch keyboard case, etc)

Since the beginning, the 13” iPad Pro is mainly a device you use in with a keyboard/case, or hold with both hands. If you want a device to hold one handed a lot, there are other options

That's why I use both an 11 and a 12.9/13 pro. Having said that the new M4 is so light that I can hold it comfortably for much, much longer that the M1 12.9 (which is very unconfortable to hold)
Having said that if I am watching something I only hold it when I am moving around, otherwise I'll put it in a stand

Though it might strike some as a surprise the vast majority of big iPads that I see are always in a case, and never in handheld use.

With a magic keyboard on a table. It’s just as heavy as an MacBook Air that way :)
But serious, I’ve used my previous iPad (12.9) a lot in the train, readin papers etc. And when writing on it, but then it is laying on a table.
The 11” is much more portable to be honest and I’m really happy with my 11” M4.
But the 13” M4 is a lot lighter then a 12.9 from the M2 generation.

When I’m watching content in bed or while cooking, it’s most likely in the magic keyboard case but when I’m walking around the house, it’s jammed between my left bicep and my left hand being controlled by my right hand with the touchscreen it’s funny even though that crazy sensation of how much lighter it was compared to the M1 12.9 has subsided, but the thinness is still there. It is noticeable every time I pick it up and the screen quality tandem O lead is definitely noticeable

Landscape two hands, sometimes with Apple Pencil in right hand. Portrait I use one hand cuz I’m a man!! Honestly it does get heavy after 15 min but consuming magazine, websites, etc. in portrait is the f’n best!

Let see: belly, knees, left underarm, desk, pillow... I think you find the 11 inch too heavy for extended single hand use as well. Come to think of it, try to hold up your hand still in air for 15 minutes and you will find that heavy as well.

I’ve been using a Magic Keyboard on my desk connected to a 34-inch curved monitor, and it’s like having a laptop replacement. Only for a signature with the Apple Pencil, it lay flat on the desk.

After 40 years of Macintosh, I’ve finally given up on my MacBook 2015. The beta of 15.2 doesn’t bring any benefits for an Intel Mac.

I don’t read on my 12.9-inch iPad Pro M1 in bed, because it’s only for work.

When I retire, I think I’ll get an 11-inch iPad Pro without a keyboard or pencil. Or a mini. Exactly for this.

13" M4 iPad owner here. It's awkward using it as a tablet.

Im an artist and even tho i like the extra screen space of the 13” ipad pro, i chose the 11” ipad pro. To me tablets were meant to be holdable devices… and even tho i am a big guy with big hands, the 13” is just too unwieldy to hold. At a desk, it’s fine. But I move around a lot. I like to take my ipad out to sketch and walk around nyc with. The 11” is perfect for that. I even have an ipad mini for when i really wanna travel light.

Lap pillows for iPad are the best! I use my all the time while watching tv.
