I know I can add my iphone to my homeowners insurance but I'm not sure if that means I'll have a $500-$1000 deductible to pay. I'm wondering how to best handle the "I've lost or broken my phone" debacle.

I insured mine with state farm but not on my homeowners policy. I already had a policy for wifes engagement ring so they just added it on there for an additonal $33 for a year and I have no deductible. It covers anything and they will reimburse me the amount that I paid including taxes.

I tried my local Allstate. They told me they dont do it :(
And under my homeowners I got a $500 deductible.

Why on earth would you insure a (now) $400 phone? Insurance is to protect you from catastrophic loss like your home or expensive automobile. Insuring a cell phone is ridiculous.

Agreed... you would be crazy for filing a claim on your homeowner's insurance for a 400.00 cell phone. The next time your policy renews and they up your policy 500.00 a year.....

I dont think its worth it if it goes thru your homeowners.
Cause for one they could raise your premium, 2nd mostly everyone got a $500 deductible so that wouldnt work. And even if you lower it or do a no deductible policy you'll be paying much more money every year.
It would be cool to get a seperate policy just for the iphone that would cover it for lets say $30-50 a year and thats not connected to your car or home policy.
Or finally get AT&T to offer insurance on this phone like they do with many other cellphones.
