I haven't subscribed. There aren't any shows that I'd like to see. I'd like to see a comedy like Silicon Valley or Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

How do you like it? Also, do they have all episodes at once like Netflix or is it lame weekly added?

I am trying to figure it out?
I mean what is the 4.99 for?
Just to watch exclusive Apple content? It seems every show and movie and cost money...

Meh. Doesn't offer anything more than I had before except the Apple content, which is priced correctly at free. Totally envisage cancelling the free subscription after 51 weeks.

It's for the new Apple shows only.

that’s what I was trying to figure out.
I am like why am I paying 4.99 for what exactly and then turning around and having to buy movies or shows... just wasn’t exactly what I expected.

The tricky part is understanding the difference between Apple TV (the app) and Apple TV+ (the service). The 4.99 a month is the service subscription. Content from other providers that is available in the app normally have additional costs. Then there is also Apple TV (the device) which can run the app which can display service content along with 3rd party content.

Its very limited and very confusing. Only a handful of shows to watch and its mixed in with movies and other shows that you have to pay for. Very confusing.
Whoever designed the content dashboard must have had a few too many pints of scrumpy because its all over the place.

Very crap...
Signed up for the free trial and already cancelled

I like Netflix. I pay my fee (which is value for money) and everything is included.
I know other streaming providers have additional content to purchase, but could not do that on Apple. Kept being told my device (amazon fire stick) is not allowed to.

Doubt I will bother in future

Think of it as just another channel next to CBS All Access, HBO etc. in the Apple TV app.

I like what I've watched so far (the free episodes of For All Mankind). Seems like they are aiming for quality content, whereas Netflix is more quantity over quality these days (with a few exceptions). The amount of content is obviously very limited at the moment, that's why they are giving it away to many Apple customers and charge only $5 for others. They'll have to keep adding content at a reasonable pace if they don't want people who pay to cancel.

I’m so confused by this and find it strange that no one is discussing online that a paid streaming service has launched with not only just 4 shows (15+ rated) but To add insult there is only 3 episodes of each of these 4 shows.

That’s like 12 episodes in total (all 4 shows inclusive) which basically equates to one series worth of content so far. If I become invested in any of the series then I will likely have to pay another 4.99 to hopefully finish the series

Where is the content. Where is the binge series potential? This is awful imo. I get that more content will come BUT this should never have launched in this state with such limited content. Perhaps I am naive to expect more than the tiny amount that’s available but do all streaming services begin like this, poor?

As little as The 4.99 subscription is it just isn’t worth it this early on. Not at least until there is a couple of series that have broadcast in full. The 4.99 makes more sense if there’s an entire series to binge watch or to just watch in its entirety throughout the subscribed month

All the Snoopy In Space episodes are there...

Not sure I understand the logic of cancelling a FREE year trial. You have no idea if this service will be good or not at this point. There's still a lot of time for Apple to improve and build on this.

I have watched 'See' so far. It's OK. Beyond the year trial? Not sold yet.

With all due respect, to hell with what Apple want. It’s a paid streaming service. Why are people so ready to accept what apple “want” it’s not a dictatorship. In two months time all of these “4” shows will be available to binge wether apple like it or not.

The content so far is insanely limited for a paid subscription but my advice to anyone determined to watch would be to wait till january when at least your money will let you complete a series.

Also, again, with all due respect but..the hell with Snoopy in space

At $5 it's in the "Patreon" range of content creator support making it easily justifiable to subscribe and remain subscribed. I would pay that much for a single show, having several makes it a no brainer.

I like it so far...

I was most excited about For All Mankind and it has been good, I hope it continues to get better...

The Morning Show I thought would be poor but has actually be my favorite so far and after 3 episodes I am looking forward to the next more than any other show...

See seemed like such a great premise but after a single episode I find myself not wanting to watch another. I'll likely give it a try again but it just doesn't seem to be my speed even though I normally like the whole post-apocalyptic / GoT type genre.

Haven't see Dickenson and already know its not for me.

All shows launched with 3 episodes available immediately and then weekly releases of an episode. I have seen the new upcoming shows listed for the next 2 months on Apple TV+ and several seem to be interesting. I got AppleTV+ for free with my many Apple product purchases and I'd probably pay $5 a month for what is here but the content is obviously thin for now. We will have a much better idea of how AppleTV+ is shaking out by the time we need to pay in 2020.

So let’s back up. I know the surface differences of the products. So I downloaded the Apple TV app right? And it gives me the 4.99 service right? So w/o the 4.99 service I can’t access Apple content however I can choose to access and pay for whatever else or other content is on there correct?
Now the actual device? That should be obsolete for any device that can DOWNLOAD the app then correct? Thus the content should be the same? Now if that device can’t download the app then the ATV device would make sense... so is that a clear understanding?

To add to that, Hulu was one of the better ones to me. Netflix is just ok, but it seems they have way more of their own content vs. outside content.

First, I should have said channel instead of service.

The Apple TV+ channel costs 4.99 a month if you choose to subscribe. Qualifying Apple hardware purchases enable a 1 year free trial period instead of the normal 7 day trial. Effectively the latest app version just adds a new channel.

Sounds about right. It’s the same old AppleTV app with a new channel for premium content accessible via subscription

I like it so far. The Morning Show isn't as bad as the reviews made it out to be. It's watchable at worst. However, it seems 90% of people are going to get this free for a year (myself included) which makes it easier to jump on and enjoy the content.

Think if you ask this question next November the answers will be quite different! Especially given how many other streaming services are coming online in the next 12 months

I love morning show. Watched pilot of See and it’s great too.
the app is awful and needs work. But seeing how iTunes was ass for 15 years I am not hopeful.

It is OK but I wouldn't pay for what I'm seeing. We'll see in 11+ months but if I had to decide today it would be no

Started a free 7-day trial. So far, I like For All Mankind. I started to watch See, but it was just embarrassingly bad. Going to watch M Night’s tonight. No interest AT ALL in TMS or the kids shows. Might give Dickinson a chance. But I’m pretty sure I’ll cancel before the trial ends.

They are all trying to jump into the Netflix space. Don’t get confused with Apple TV subscription content vs App content which the latter has been there all along, that you find on Apple TV (the physical box). Customers have to decide if their paid content is worth a subscription.

Besides Netflix (No.1 for a HUGE amount of content), my estimation is that Amazon’s Prime Video is No.2., then there are the originals HBO, Showtime, Stars (?), all the new comers like Apple, Disney+, are trying to catch up, and I’ve not figured out what CBS All Access‘s long range plan is as they have traditionally been a broadcast network based on commercials, but when you compare them to the first two, there is not much of a contest. We virtually watch Netflix daily. I stay subscribed to Amazon because it’s included with their prime shipping. Everything else if I partake is binge watched subscriptions, which with 10 episode seasons is easy to do, and I have yet to subscribe to Apple TV. The Mandalorian, a possible candidate, did not grab me in two episodes, which I watched at the relatives.

I have watched several of the shows and although I might watch more episodes they probably come at the bottom of my watch list. I think Apple went for "quality" vs. "entertaining". For instance, I know I'm not current with episodes, but on Morning Show - you don't get away with that kind of language at any work I've been at and a former employee just walking in (there have been killings from former employees) and then taking minutes for security to show up who only escort to elevator rather than out - sorry not the way the world works today for corporations.
