The title says it all. Most computer reviews say they are average music, but not to rock out to.i must disaggree. These are better than the Harmon Kardon sound system on my PC(they are reeeeeeeelly good). They don't mess upat high volume, and theyare crystalclear. So you do you like yours?

I like the fact that they are shielded, so when my cell-phone goes off I don't get all those wierd noises coming from them. Other than that, I find them rather tinny and opted to hook up a TEAC shelf stereo to the imac shortly after.

I'm no audiophile, so I like them a lot. They don't have too much bass though, so an external set wouldn't hurt. But in a pinch they work just fine. I've found that they sound great when playing movies.

Hmm. Odd. I find them very high in bass. And not very tinny. It is a very good speaker set.

I found the 1st gen iMac G5 speakers were horrible, no where near the volume needed really, and if you pushed the volume near the top much distortion!

Not as good as the receiver + 5.1 speaker system in my living room, but as far as built-in speakers go they are almost perfect. Certainly much better than JBL speakers in my Compaq laptop, which were already much better than Dell laptops at the time.

Bass is not strong; that's not very suprising due to size, but I would not want my computer to be shaking while in use anyways.

they're fine, but after you listen to even the cheapest external set with a sub, they're nothing in comparison. i've got logitech speakers and the sub is huge so i can never go back.

I'm really picky on my speakers, but the built-in iMac speakers sound awesome and have excellent quality: I have had no distortion. But, If you really want an audio experience, then buy external.
