How do you make downloaded TV episodes playable in DVD players?

Well, as the title says, how do you burn DVD discs containing TV episodes that you can play in regular DVD drives?

Short answer, you can't

You don't say where you've downloaded them from. If they're from a service such as iTunes, then basically you can't. If they're from a different service with no DRM then you can use software such as Toast. Select to create a video DVD then drag the videos in there.
