I can barely see anything from my chair and couch, and I even have to use the second best solution. With the best solution it just gets too small, so I cant see anything. Is there any way to make everything a little bigger? Especially the text is a problem

You can zoom in on any area of the screen by holding down the control key and using the mouse wheel.

I know you probably don't want to hear it but the Mac OS is not meant to be used at such a high resolution from so far away, like hooked up to a TV. To have a much easier reading experience you will need to lower your resolution to 720p. If you do keep the 1080p resolution work arounds haver already been mentioned like screen zooming and increasing the text size in the web browser. If you use Safari 4 Beta you will find that it has a few features that might help when browsing. Full Page Zoom, Zoom Text Only, and Minimum Font Size are the parts that you might be interested in. Hopefully Apple will get SnowLeopard right and include Resolution Independence. I haven't looked at the latest seed of SnowLeopard to see if Resolution Independence is included yet, I don't think it has but I will have to remember to look on Monday when I go back to work.

this is really disappointing, but I guess I can live with it by making the size bigger in the browsers, which is where I have a problem most often.

Yeah and its a fine solution. I just like being able to see the whole sceen, but its fine, thanks.

Im slowly gettin there, its still a new world for me :) now I need to find a good keyboard/mouse solution and most importantly I need to get Elgato 250 Plus working with a satellite dish receiver. Right now its giving me a lot of trouble but Im sure I just gotta figure something out
