I was wondering what people view as the best option to manage photos storage on the phone. I am at 240GB use now and going to upgrade to a new XS 256GB. My main storage taker are the phones. I have 2TB iCloud account and just wondering if most people use that to store photos or you just move old photos to your computer every once in a while? any benefits to one over the other?

thanks

I use Google Photos since I already have a Google storage paid plan. I prefer Google to iCloud but that's not the issue here.

Since I had a 64GB iPhone I would make sure every once in a month all my photos are synced between my device and the cloud and then clean up my device.

This has been working out well so far since I would have around 50GB of free space. I took a 2 week trip recently and of course a bunch of photos/videos and used just over 40GB on my device.

I will be upgrading to a 64GB as it has met my needs so far. Internet connectivity is getting better every day so even if I did take a long trip again I'm fairly sure I would be able to sync my device to the cloud and free up some storage space if I needed to.

google photos. Unlimited photo storage 12mp or smaller won't be resized. Which iphone photos are so that's good. Once they backup to the cloud there's a free up storage button which removes them from your phone(if they are in the cloud). Done. All free.

I do also have icloud installed on my PC so photos also automatically download there too.
