I was trying to highlight the pictures in iPhoto and delete it but the right click menu is all greyed out.

I know there is the option to delete the pictures after you import it but i want to keep the movie files and delete just the pictures (I already imported but there was an error when I was clicked on 'delete imported pictures')

From Photo Roll hit the top right button (same as share)

select your photos

Hit red button at bottom labeled "delete"

where is the photo roll button? there is no such thing in my phone! I have photo library with 1341 pics, camera roll with no pics, last import photo with 1 pic, and recovered photos with 373 pics. there is an app on cydia called "erase all contacts" is there one for pictures that anyone knows of?

It's not a button. He was talking about the Camera Roll. In there you pick the icon on the top right corner and you can then select photos to delete. There's no mass delete. For the Photo Library you can not delete ANY pics. You have to sync to delete pics off the iPhone that are not in the Camera Roll (you would thus delete pics on the folders in your computer, of course).

Got it?

Also, he seems to have got confused with the OP's question, which had to do with iPhoto, not the iPhone, and certainly not the Camera Roll.

There is on way which I normally use, It might help you

You may go to your Phone normally as you use USB, It will show you all your pictures, From there you can easily select and delete as you normally do with any folder on your system,

It might help you.
