I have an iTunes library on my Macbook that I will be needing to move to a PC...

Given that the Mac no longer has iTunes but the PC will presumably need iTunes, how do you do this?

Do you need a portable hard drive? Is it possible to do it over the wifi network?

I'm a tech n00b o_O

Edit: just a thought, could I do it via OneDrive? I have 1TB of storage there that I don't use currently

Okay we are getting a flash drive soon, and I still have not found a guide on how to do it that makes it simple enough for a n00b like me!

Is it just a case of copying the whole iTunes Media folder from my Mac to the flash drive and then copying that to the iTunes folder that's now on my PC (as I already installed iTunes)?

Read the article I posted. There are a couple of XML files that need to be modified after the library is copied to the Mac.

I did but I don’t understand it... how do you do this step..?

To do this, we opened the file iTunes Music Library.xml in Notepad

where’s that file and how do you open it in Notepad..?

I take it nothing has changed in the 9 years since that article was written..?

thanks!

Okay so it turned out this was much easier than I expected, there was no need to alter any file paths or anything like that, just copied the iTunes media folder from the Mac to a USB drive (which was the hard part as it was a USB 2.0 one!), then copied it to the same folder on the PC, checked iTunes was pointed to that folder, then File > Add Folder to Library > select the iTunes media folder and voila!
