How do you organise your contacts?

Do you have each person as a separate contact?

Do you group contacts together?

I am currently Adding a "contact" and then within that contact, adding a new phone & renaming it to a person within that "contact".

Eg, I have "Gym Buddies" and inside of that I simply add new phone numbers (people) and create new custom labels for each person.

I have had my iMac & iPad for a while, but have been using an old skool Nokia for the past couple of years, so I haven't paid much attention to the contacts in my iCloud account.

However, now that I have my iPhone 6, I'm organising everything how I like it, as the device is with me all of the time.

I'd be interested to learn how you organise your contacts ...

You should make each person a separate contact. You can then make Groups (like Gym Buddies) and add the Contacts (people) to that Group. You can add Contacts to multiple groups.

I have just finished doing what you advised.

I realised that when I had it how I described before, I couldn't use Siri to call or text people who were "nested" within a single "contact".

The way you described is much better, even if for this reason alone.

I noticed that on my iPhone I can't quickly switch between groups, which is a bit of a shame.

You only have the option of ticking which groups are visible.

A much better way to have them organised, though.

I have two contacts each for a couple of folks that have iOS devices (home and work in this case) signed into different Apple IDs for Facetime.

If I put both iPhone numbers or email addresses in the same single contact a Facetime call to that person rings both devices no matter which number/email address I picked...annoying.
