First off, I hope this is the right place to ask. Sorry if a thread like this is already made. Couldn't find one in the search.

I bought a seasons Gilligan's Island on DVD and I was wondering if I could get it onto my iTunes & iPod Touch so I can watch it?

I tried googling and I didn't have a whole lot of luck.

Hellppp :)

Yours truly,
Sarah

Pop the DVD in, load up HandBrake, select the chapters you want ripped on your iPod, let the program rip the chapters, drag the ripped movie files into the Movie section of iTunes on your iPod. Or at least that's the way I do it...

Alternately, you can probably do this with the radio and a coconut. :D

Handbrake is all that I have ever used to rip movies to my iPod or iPhone. Good stuff...

I've always used Handbrake.

You can download the latest version of Handbrake here. If you get version 0.9.3, then you must download the latest version of the VLC Player. Handbrake 0.9.3 uses the VLC Player for decrypting the DVD.

OK I got the new Handbrake and the VLC program and haven't a clue what to do next. When I try to put the sourse to my DVD player it doesn't recognize the DVD in handbrake. I can play the DVD via VLC. Do i need to save the file first before i can use handbrake?

When it prompts you for a source, you should see a Finder window. Just select the disc, it will scan it for the longest title, and bring up that one. If there is more than one title you want (some TV Show DVDs have each ep as it's own title), select them from the menu.
