I'm using the latest version of iTunes on Yosemite, and I can't find any way to stop iTunes from opening every time I connect my iPhone to it. I just want to charge my phone!

There used to be an option in previous versions "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected", but it's no longer there. Nothing of that sort in the Preferences menu either.

Any help would be appriciated.

In iTunes, on your device's summary page, scroll down to the bottom to the box labeled "Options". Uncheck the option: Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected.

I'm not absolutely positive this is what does it, but I know it is cleared for me, and I can plug in my phone without iTunes popping up.

Thanks!
Apple's wording is not very concise, but oh well!
