I am a new soon to be owner and do not know anybody with a iPad or have messed with one extensively so please be easy.

How exactly would one stream? Do you need a certain app? If streaming your music collection can you rate it via iTunes as you would if it were on the iPad itself?

I own a PC with all my content on it so hopefully a Mac isn't required.

AirVideo and ZumoCast when I'm out of the house.
ZumoCast is no longer available in the App Store, though I honestly had no idea it was pulled until I just checked for it :p

Home Sharing while in my house.

I use Air Video for streaming all video. especially, not mp4 file then AirPlay to AppleTV 2.

I love their live conversion :p

I set up my work computer (fastest computer i own, faster upload connection than my home) with GoToMyPC and/or Splashtop (still evaluating both, leaning towards Splashtop as there is no monthly cost) and download videos on the go with my iPad 2. Then I connect to the computer using AirVideo to either live convert or put the videos in a conversion queue.

This allows me to download Icefilms videos via Megaupload and pretty much any other video content on the web.

Splashtop also allows me to view streaming flash video with audio on my iPad.

Until (if) the ipad gets flash, this is a pretty simple and effective work around for me.

Being designed in the U.S., those flash browsers tend to not support canadian sites i visit, specifically on demand and live video sites.

Plus the bulk of the video I want to watch is divx which they wouldn't support.
