Hi Mac friends.

In iOS 15.1 and iPhone 6s Plus, how do you set the photos to save in jpeg, instead of HEIC?
How do you make jpeg your default format when taking photos? Where in Settings do I navigate?

Thank you

Navigate to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible
Hi. There's no Formats setting, sadly. I wonder where it is? This is the only settings in Camera

All photos stored on your iphone will be stored as HEIC. However, depending on whether you want max compatibility, or max space saving, you could either let iOS send all HEIC as JPG or send HEIC or JPG automatically. The setting should be here:

While we're on this subject, how does the phone so quickly convert the images from HEIC to JPEG if you switch the "Transfer to Mac or PC" setting?

Thanks everyone. By the way how come Apple uses HEIC as default after the iPhone 6s Plus models? Does HEIC preserve everything like RAW does and is as high quality?
