How do YOU tether YOURS?

I downloaded Tether in 2012 when it was briefly on the App store and I've been using it ever since to tether for unlimited data (regular personal hotspot has something like a 2GB limit on my plan).

It's just stopped working on iOS10 (throws up a license expired error) so I'm wondering whether there are any other better or other ways to tether; are there still hidden tethering apps that pop up on the store?

Is this the iTether app? I've been using mine for years as well.

Yes. It recently stopped working; could well be ios10 but it says "license expired" on the iPhone and on the mac app it says "not connected to tether app" or some such. Are you on ios10? Is it still working?

Not currently on iOS 10. I had some trouble getting it to activate on 9.3.3 last week. Power was out and needed to browse on my iMac, but eventually it connected. I was also getting the license expired error, but it eventually corrected itself. I don't remember what I did exactly, but it took a good 10 minutes of messing around with both the mac app and iOS app.

Not an iOS issue. The app reaches out to tether.com upon launch, but if you visit there, it looks like the developer's website has been taken down and/or the domain has expired, so it can't authenticate to it.

UPDATE: In looking at the cached site from Google's search results, the top of their homepage had this notice:
"Tether.com is no longer accepting new customers and existing customers will continue to have access until July 31, 2016"

Unless someone can either take the domain and/or make a way to make it pass authentication, the app looks to be dead forever.

That would require modification of the original app, which would then need to be digitally re-signed to regain file integrity, or jailbreak the device, which defeats the purpose. The only real option to get this program to work -in its current state - is from the website's end.
