I can't seem to turn off badges entirely on iPhone 4S. I really don't want to see the little red badge in the corner of the app sitting there. The one that bothers me the most is the App Store badge. Is there anyway to turn these things off??

Settings > Notifications > click on the apps you want to turn the badge off > turn badge off or turn all notifications off.

Well I've gone through every App and turned everything off. The one that remains is the App Store cause I have updates waiting. That's the one I want to turn off but can't seem to do so.

As far as I know, you need to jailbreak to get rid of the App Store badge as well as the Settings badge. I'm not sure what the hack is called since I don't jailbreak.

This isn't exactly the answer you're looking for so don't give me a hard time for it but, is there a reason why you don't regularly update your apps?

Yes, the App Store badge annoys me to, which is good because it forces me to update my apps. There is no reason not to update apps unless you like an older version on some app (i.e. they have added ads on a newer version or something).

2 solutions:

- Update your apps

- Jailbreak and install No Badges in Cydia

No other way that I'm aware of. (there are other tweaks in Cydia)

some apps won't update if you're not on 5.1- examples being pages and iMovie. Some people didn't go to 5.1 to maintain their jailbreak. So now you are left with badges over app store and settings.

I don't understand why you can't tweak your iDevice without jailbreaking it. It is stupid. I can tweak windows without hacking it.

At least badges only show up on the Mail and App Store which I don't mind on there so I know I have mail and I have to update the apps. I use to hate it when you could not turn them off on third party apps. Some apps I ended up deleting because the badge icon was so annoying but starting with iOS 5.0 I can just turn them off.
