OK I'm still a newb here, so I have a HP printer that I am getting rid of, I want to get rid of the software and printer on the MacMini. How do I go about doing this? The printer I bought is a Cannon so I don't need the HP stuff anymore. Thanks for any help on this.

Is there any uninstall software for you HP printer on the HP drivers CD?

If not, you could use AppCleaner or AppZapper (one of those is free and doesn't make a sound) to remove the HP application and its associated files.

EDIT: I was just thinking the Windows way.
Mac OS X comes with drivers for many, many printers, so it should work fine without removing the HP printer.

Just be sure to configure the Canon printer as your default/primary printer, but Mac OS X is that advanced, that it will recognize the Canon as a Canon, and not confuse it with the HP, and vice versa.

just an example that many printers can co-exist peacefully with one computer/network...
