i upgraded it iOS 5 and converted my MobileMe to an iCloud account. everything is working smoothly with setting up backups. I can see my apps are in the cloud, but how do backup / upload your music?

i understand i can sync my iPhone / iPad wirelessly now with iTunes, but what if i want to store all my music and apps in the cloud?

Without match, you can't upload your music at all? I thought match just made it easier?

My understanding is that free offering only applies to music you have purchased through the iTunes Store. What iTunes Match does is extend what the free iCloud does to ALL of your iTunes tracks. So with iTunes Match, the CDs you've ripped and the mp3s you downloaded will be matched to iTunes and the ones that cannot be matched will be uploaded.

Makes sense. I think what confused me was the demonstration showing how it would take days to upload your own music so with match its just faster.

The only way to access music through the cloud;

1) Purchased music can be accessed through the music store on an iOS device, and should appear on your iPhone with a cloud next to it, indicating it can be streamed/downloaded (if for some reason it's not on that phone)

2) iTunes Match.

You have to pay for iTunes Match and it's not available yet. Only developers have access to it.

Hmmm I purchased it Tuesday and Im not a developer - using it now, but not without some issues (once I play a song it turns gray and you can't play it again, and it only uploaded about half of the songs that it could not match, there is still 4gb left of space, but the songs are not uploaded.)

Add me to the list of those confused. Why can't I upload my music from my mac yet? I don't have any ios5 devices, but shouldn't I be able to upload music to the cloud already?
